The Sidhe

Posted in Podcasts on March 7th, 2011

Céad míle fáilte romhat! It's once again March, spring is just around the corner and, of course, it's soon to be St. Patrick's Day. That means it's time for The Scotchcast to take a look at some whiskeys from our friends across Sruth na Maoile. Those whiskeys will be the Michael Collins Single Malt and Connemara Cask Strength, and we are excited to be joined for this round by the wonderful A. Kovacs.

Join us next time when we'll be tasting the Miltonduff 10 year and Auchentoshan Select.

Down by the Glenside

Posted in Podcasts on February 3rd, 2011

Join the Scotchcast as we take a leisurely stroll down by the glenside. Along the way we'll be tasting the Glenburgie 15 year and the Glencadam 15 year. Who knows, maybe we'll even run across an old woman picking young nettles and humming a song. Though come to think of it, it might be more appropriate if we met her next month...

Join us next time for our annual "Irish" show when we'll be tasting Michael Collins Single Malt and Connemara Cask Strength.

Big Mac Attack

Posted in Podcasts on January 9th, 2011

Two Speyside scotches, special box, lots of cash, pepper, chocolate and a quarter point score!

While that little shout-out to an old commercial jingle from a certain fast-food establishment might date me a little, it is appropriate for this round of The Scotchcast. We'll be tasting two of the biggest "Macs" around, the Macallan Fine Oak 15 year and Macallan Sherry Oak 18 year. As we announced last time we'll be introducing the use of quater points in our scoring starting with this show and if you'd like to check out the special presentation box the Sherry Oak 18 arrived in, please check out the Facebook page for a few photos.

Join us next time when we'll be tasting the Glenburgie 15 year and Glencadam 15 year.

The Queen’s Dram

Posted in Podcasts on December 6th, 2010

While tonight's drams are certainly fit for a Queen, you won't need to request an audience with Her Majesty to try them. Join the Scotchcast and very special guest Ari as we taste the Laphroaig Quarter Cask and Ardbeg Uigeadail.

We do a quick tasting of a special dram from the fine folks at Master of Malt, and we announce a change in The Scotchcast scoring system coming in January of 2011.

Join us next time when we'll be tasting the Macallan Fine Oak 15 year and Macallan Sherry Oak 18 year.

The Good Earth

Posted in Podcasts on November 7th, 2010

November returns us to the time of harvest when the Good Earth gives of its bounty to support us through the long cold winter months to come. Two of those bounties that will be keeping The Scotchcast warm are the Glen Ord 12 year and the Glen Garioch 15 year which we'll be tasting this time around.

We'll also be virtually joining listeners Les and Adam as they take us to the Stone Mountain Highland Games for their impressions of some scotches they encountered there.

Join us next time when we'll be tasting the Laphroaig Quarter Cask and the Ardbeg Uigeadail.
