A Wee Drop

Posted in Podcasts on March 1st, 2010

Céad míle fáilte everyone!

It’s finally March, spring is just around the corner here in the eastern US, and St. Patrick’s Day is fast approaching! That means it’s time once again for The Scotchcast to break out the White, Orange, and Green and bring to you our annual Irish Whisky tasting. This time around we’ll be sampling Tyrconnell and Bushmills 12 year Distillery Reserve which can only be purchased at Bushmills Distillery.

Stag Party

Posted in Podcasts on February 2nd, 2010

Don’t Panic! This isn’t “that” kind of Stag Party.

The Stag we’re talking about is the unmistakable mark of the Dalmore distillery and we have two of their expressions in the lineup this time. We’re joined by Les Howard of The Signal Podcast for a tasting the Dalmore Cigar Malt and Grand Reserva.

Join us next time for our annual “Irish” show, when we’ll be tasting the Tyrconnell and Bushmills 12 year Distillery Reserve Irish single malts.

The Caskaways

Posted in Podcasts on January 14th, 2010

And now for something

    completely

different…

Finally, we have made it through the technical difficulties and can now present to you The Caskaways, an extra length episode featuring the Partners of Dark Overlord media, A. Kovaks and New York Times best-selling novelist Scott Sigler. Together we taste the Glenlivet 16 year ‘Nadura’ and the Talisker 57° North.

While this recording was absolute, riotous, wonderful fun for all of us, a word of warning to you the listener: This is NOT your normal Scotchcast. There will be language, possibly some off color humor, and not just a few F-bombs sprinkled throughout. We do eventually get around to tasting and evaluating the scotches, but we took a long and twisted road to get there. We did have the FDO™ on the line after all.

Many, many thanks to the wonderful “A” and to Scott for joining us and for being such great sports! We hope you enjoy listening to this little indulgence as much as we did recording it.

Join us next time when we taste the Dalmore Cigar Malt and the Dalmore Grand Reserva.

Promos: Scott Sigler’s Ancestor and Contagious

Special Edition #003 – Holiday 2009

Posted in Podcasts on December 20th, 2009

Is it wrong or absolutely hilarious that the very first Scotchcast to carry an explicit tag is our “Holiday” Special Edition? Well, one way or the other, that’s what you get when the Single Malt Samurai send you a gift and that’s exactly what we have for you this time around. Recorded live at AnimeUSA, the Single Malt Samurai and friends bring us a tasting of Loch Dhu.

Have safe and happy holidays whichever, if any, you celebrate and thank you all for your continued support of The Scotchcast.

Slàinte mhath,

Jeff, Chip, & Michael

The Dark Side

Posted in Podcasts on December 3rd, 2009

These are not the drams you’re looking for. Move along, move along.

No, wait! These are the drams you’re looking for, or at least we think you should be. Sit down with us as we taste the Aberlour a’bunadh and the Bowmore Darkest, and we promise we won’t alter the deal any further.

Next time, join us for a tasting of the Glenlivet 16 year ‘Nadura’ and the Talisker 57° North.
