Well, it's that time of the year again. The nominations are in, and for the 2nd year in a row, The Scotchcast has been nominated for a People's Choice Podcast Award. First of all, Jeff, Michael, and I would like to thank all of you who nominated us in the Food & Drink category. Second, it is now time to get out and vote! From December 1st through December 15th, you can cast your vote for your favorite podcasts in a number of categories over at the People's Podcast Awards. While it is nice to be nominated, winning would be very cool, too. Please consider going to the site daily to cast your vote for us and for the other great podcasts that have been nominated. Again, we are humbled by the fact that our listeners have gotten us on the short list once again. Thank you!

Daily voting will open on November 13th with voting closing November 30th at 1800 est, and each Person / IP will be allowed to vote once per day in each category. You can visit http://www.podcastawards.com/ starting on the 13th to cast your vote.

The People's Choice voting is now complete, and we have our winners!

Michael Jackson: 27 March 1942 – 30 August 2007

A legend in the world of beer and whisky has left us. Michael Jackson, who we regularly quote for our professional tasting notes, passed away Wednesday night at his home in London. He was 65. All of us at The Scotchcast are saddened by this news. His interest in whisky, along with the books and articles he has written, have done a great deal to make this podcast possible. We ask that you join us in raising a glass to the memory and accomplishments of Michael Jackson.
