Time out for some beer

Very recently, I (Chip) put away my scotch glass and pulled out my pint glass for a bit of beer and conversation with Thomas and John from the Living Proof Brewcast. We drank a terrific imperial stout from the Hoppin' Frog Brewery in Akron, OH. and talked about beer...and scotch. A great time was had by all, and hopefully they will be joining us soon for a bit of the single malt. I highly recommend you check out their site and podcast, particularly if you enjoy craft beer. They taste many wonderful beers and give you great information on beer and their experiences making their own. Scotchcast #52 delayed

Unfortunately there will be delay in the release of Scotchcast #52. As we noted on our Facebook page, the Scotchcast is at Dragon*Con. Sadly my MacBook did not survive the trip to Atlanta and I was in process of editing the show as we traveled. We'll get it out to you as soon as we can. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Show #32 status

Well, as I'm sure you have noticed, the January show has not appeared in your feed. For that, we apologize. The year so far has been a bit crazier than we expected. Show #32 should be ready to post in a couple of days. The reason for it taking this long? Well, it is going to be an extra long show with a couple of awesome guests. It is also a bit different from our usual. It's more raw, crazy, and...well, you'll see.

Keep checking the feed and we will get it to you as soon as possible.

Delay on January Show Release

Happy New Year!!

Well, it had to happen one day. The release of the January show is going to be delayed a few days. A technical problem with Michael's microphone setup caused some audio issues that need to be resolved before the show is ready for the masses. Jeff is working his audio magic, and we hope to have the show ready by Monday. Thanks for your patience!

Hey, everyone! Today, September 15th, is the opening day of nominations for the People's Choice Podcast Awards. As the name suggests, these are awards given by you, the listener, to podcasts that you listen to.

While we are not begging for votes, we would like to encourage you to go to the site and vote for the podcasts that you enjoy the most. If The Scotchcast happens to be one of them, we won't object. Please read the rules on their site, so that your vote gets counted. The category that The Scotchcast falls into is Food and Drink.

So far, there have been very few votes received. Send us a vote for some scotches you would like to have reviewed! This is the listener's show and we would really like your suggestions. All of the voting information can be found on the standings page.

New Voicemail Number

Hi all! We wanted to let you know that we have a new voicemail number.

When we got home from ConVocation, where the last show was recorded, we found that we had an issue with the voicemail number. You can call it and leave a message, but we'll never know about it, and we can't log in to get the messages either! So rather than go through the hoops to figure it out, we went with another provider, GrandCentral. They provide tons more usability and hugely better audio quality.

So give it a try! The new number is 517-879-4629 and if you click the "call me!" button on thescotchcast.com, GrandCentral will even call your phone and connect you to our voicemail for FREE!

Comment editing

Hey everyone,

Thanks to a listener suggestion, we have enabled the ability for you to edit your comments once they have been submitted. There are however a couple of things to keep in mind. First, once you submit a comment you will have thirty minutes in which to edit it. After that your comment becomes static and cannot be changed. Second, since we don't require you to register and be logged in, you must be at the same IP address used to make the original comment.
