About The Scotchcast
So, you are all wondering how The Scotchcast came to be? Well, it was simply due to our love of the “water of life”, and being bitten by the podcast bug. Let's face it, after listening to podcasts for awhile, we all think at some point that we could probably do one. This is our effort to make the thought, reality. Boy, we hope we don't suck.
Now, what is it that we are going to do on this podcast, besides drink scotch? We are going to talk about scotch. What are the differences between Highland, Lowland, Speyside, and Islay? What are the various characteristics of scotch? How do you go about properly tasting it? What kinds of scotch are out there in the wide, wide world? How much do they cost? You get the idea...
Another question would be, who are we? What unique knowledge do we have that gives us the right to tell you what scotch is good and what should be avoided? In a word, “None.” We are just three guys who like drinking scotch, finding the products from distilleries we haven't experienced before, and deciding what we like. That is exactly what we will tell you during the show, what we like and what we don't. In all likelihood, we won't always agree on the things we try, either. So that you, the listener, can have some fun too, we will tell you at the end of each show what we will be tasting the next time. That way, you can taste along with us, hear what we think, and decide for yourself if you agree or disagree.
The ultimate goal is to have fun. If we also happen to do a bit of education and/or introduce you to something you enjoy, but might not ever have tried... all the better!
