The Caskaways

And now for something

    completely

different...

Finally, we have made it through the technical difficulties and can now present to you The Caskaways, an extra length episode featuring the Partners of Dark Overlord media, A. Kovaks and New York Times best-selling novelist Scott Sigler. Together we taste the Glenlivet 16 year ‘Nadura’ and the Talisker 57° North.

While this recording was absolute, riotous, wonderful fun for all of us, a word of warning to you the listener: This is NOT your normal Scotchcast. There will be language, possibly some off color humor, and not just a few F-bombs sprinkled throughout. We do eventually get around to tasting and evaluating the scotches, but we took a long and twisted road to get there. We did have the FDO™ on the line after all.

Many, many thanks to the wonderful "A" and to Scott for joining us and for being such great sports! We hope you enjoy listening to this little indulgence as much as we did recording it.

Join us next time when we taste the Dalmore Cigar Malt and the Dalmore Grand Reserva.

Dam that was an entertaining show! I was afraid that Scott was going to get so far off track y’all would never get back to the scotch scores….

  3. Rayne Says:

I love the Scotchcast, but Sigler was so completely off topic, offensive (date rape jokes? Is that EVER really appropriate?), and finally just thuddingly unfunny, that this episode was ruined for me. Please don’t put him back on, guys. Stick to what you three do best.

  4. Jeff Says:

Rayne, thanks for your comments. We certainly understand your concerns, and realize that Scott is not everyone’s cup of tea. With the guest spots, we try to provide a wide range of personalities that we think the listeners might enjoy and we had a lot of positive suggestions to have Scott on.

We tried to make it clear in the posting that this was going to be quite an excursion from our normal content and are sorry if we caught you by surprise.

We hope you’ll continue to listen and that you’ll find future guests, when they appear, entertaining and informative.

Again, thanks so much for sharing your concerns. We appreciate all feedback.

I enjoy your shows, but I had to turn this one off at the 1-hr mark because of Scott Sigler. He tookover the show and his sense of humour is on the far side. I found him repetitive, overbearing and eventually obnoxious. It’s really too bad.

I would take this episode off, because it doesn’t represent your product and will turn many whisky-lovers away. I have removed my link to your show from my Facebook. What were you thinking of when you decided to upload this episode?

  6. Dennis Says:

I have not listened to this episode yet, must have missed it in my feed. But I can’t wait. I can just imagine what it will be. I love all of Scott’s work. Yes he can be quite crude but that is Scott. I see that you warned listeners on the blog post so those whom are easily offended could just skip the episode. No matter who you have on as a guest I enjoy the content every time. Keep up the great work guys.

  7. Justin Says:

Hey Guys, Scott was definitely obnoxious and annoying but I don’t think you should remove the episode. I liked A. Kovaks; maybe she could come back alone sometime. At any rate, I love the Scotchcast so please keep it up forever!

    Thankie!

Dumb Overload guy = just really annoying.
