Here, Lossie!

Posted in Podcasts on May 4th, 2009

The Scotchcast crew may not be quite as cute and cuddly as a certain heroic collie we are all probably familiar with but we think we are pretty good at bringing our listeners to the well of scotch information.

This time around that information is on Glenlossie 10 year and Glen Moray 12 year. We’ll cover some feedback and say some thank yous as well.

Next time we’ll be tasting the Gordon & MacPhail independent bottlings of Linkwood 15 year and Longmorn 12 year.

Promos: Phil Rossi’s Eden - Nina Kimberly The Merciless (new version)

‘Laddie O’

Posted in Podcasts on April 1st, 2009

While the title of this month’s show ‘Laddie O’ might bring to mind the ancient Scottish popular folk tune If thou’lt play me fair play, or maybe Robert Burns’ poem Highland Laddie, Highland Lassie, the “Laddie” we are talking about this time is Bruichladdich. Both of this month’s scotches, the 12 year Second Edition and 14 year ‘Links Series’ K Club are Bruichladdich offerings. We’ll be taking a look at the bruichladdich.com website, as well.

In addition, The Scotchcast would like to ask all of our listeners to take a moment this month to remember a missing friend, podcaster, all ’round good guy, and Kick Ass Mystic Ninja, Joe Murphy. Joe was taken from us two years ago today, April 1st, by Leiomyosarcoma and he is greatly missed by many.

Join us next time when we’ll be tasting Glen Moray 12 year and Glenlossie 10 year.

Promos: Personal Effects Dark Art - Antithesis, Book One

Luck O’ The Irish

Posted in Podcasts on March 1st, 2009

It’s March, and as thoughts turn to things green, both grass AND beer (just kidding), that means it’s time once again for the annual “Irishcast”. This month we take a break from scotch and head across the channel to Ireland where we’ll be tasting two Irish single malt whiskeys, Clontarf and the Connemara Peated Single Malt.

Join us next time when we’ll be back to scotch and will taste the Bruichladdich 12 year and Bruichladdich 14 year, Links Series Turnberry.

Promos: Weather Child - I Should Be Writing
